CRISTAL Care Awards 2022 launch in Tameside and Glossop

Date Released - 06/06/2022

NOMINATIONS are now open for this year’s prestigious CRISTAL (celebrate, remarkable and inspirational stars, teams and leaders) Care Awards.

The awards recognise and celebrate the personal, innovative and dedicated work that benefits residents living in care and nursing homes across Tameside and Glossop.

They are aimed at an individual, team or organisation who is employed by an independent provider delivering care within a care home, with or without nursing, a domiciliary care organisation and/or a supported living scheme.

To make a nomination people must either work within an independent Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered care provider in Tameside and Glossop - care workers, colleagues, managers and carers, or senior management of the organisation that owns the care home; be a health or social care professional with links to the care delivery - social workers, GPs, district nurses, any other visiting professionals - (excluding commissioning and regulating colleagues).  Nominations can also be made by the person receiving care as well as their family members or friends.

There are 7 award categories and nominations will close on 1 July.  A panel of judges will meet to discuss nominations in August and shortlisted finalists will be notified by late summer.  The awards ceremony is expected to take place on Friday 14 October 2022.

Local businesses who wish to support the event can get involved by donating raffle prizes or paying for a business advert in the awards ceremony brochure to be distributed on the night.

Drs Asad Ali and Ashwin Ramachandra, co-chairs at NHS Tameside and Glossop Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “During the pandemic people working in our care and nursing homes went above and beyond their normal duties, making sure our loved ones, the most vulnerable people in our community, were protected from COVID-19.

“We hope lots of eligible people will take the time to make a nomination which will recognise the hard work of those people and teams across the care sector in Tameside and Glossop.

“This is our third CRISTAL Care Awards which celebrates finding the best of Tameside and Glossop’s care sector staff and care organisations.  We hope you can help us make this year’s awards another great success.”
